William Douglas Vaughn

William Douglas Vaughn, born on June 20, 1942, in Forest, Mississippi, peacefully passed away at his residence in Lake, MS, on December 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was a man of deep roots, having lived in Homewood his entire life.

Douglas will be remembered as an avid fisherman and a hardworking farmer who embraced the value of labor and dedication. His career also included being a skilled brick mason before retiring, a testament to his craftsmanship and work ethic. Beyond his professions, Douglas was a member of the men's coffee club of Homewood, where he cherished camaraderie with friends.

A true enthusiast of the outdoors, Douglas enjoyed team roping and the thrill it brought, sharing moments of joy and competition with fellow enthusiasts. Above all else, his love for his family, particularly his grandchildren, defined his life. He took great pride in witnessing their growth and being a guiding presence in their lives.

Douglas leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Brenda Vaughn, and his daughter, Tammy Roland (Phillip), and his grandchildren, Jed and Betsy Roland. His memory will forever be cherished. He is preceded in death by his father, William Harold Vaughn; his mother, Myrtle Vaughn; his son, William Harold "Bill" Vaughn; and his sister, Marie Elkins.

The family invites friends and loved ones to gather in remembrance of Douglas. Visitation will occur at Homewood Baptist Church, located at 11565 Morton-Marathon Rd., Forest, MS, on December 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on December 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. A funeral service will follow on December 27, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, with a graveside immediately following as they celebrate the life of a man whose warmth, dedication, and spirit touched all who knew him.

Pallbearers are as follows: Ricky Foreman, Steve Windham, Bubba Cook, Gene Boone, David Johnson, Sam Shirley, and Ricky Warren.

Honorary Pallbearers are as follows: David Tadlock, Trent Windham, Henry "Cotton" Foreman, Jack Windham, and the Men's Coffee Club of Homewood.

Donations can be made to the Homewood Baptist Church.
