Thelma Wilkerson

Thelma F. Wilkerson, 75, a resident of Lake passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at her residence. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 8:00 until 9:45 am. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 am in the chapel with burial following in the Dennis Cemetery in Lake, MS. Officiating was Elder George Gardner and Rev. Bobby Warren. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wilkerson had lived in the Lake, MS for fifty seven years, moving from Piketon, MS. and she was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Forest, MS. Mrs. Wilkerson enjoyed gardening and cutting grass on her Snapper Riding Mower.
Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Joe Wilkerson; daughter, Glenda Ferguson; son, Willie Stevenson Wilkerson; and grandson, William Lee Jenkins.
Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by five children, Bobby Joe Wilkerson and wife Rita of Lake, MS; Randy Wilkerson and wife Melissa of Lake, MS; Annie Yarbrough and husband Lawayne of Lake, MS; Melinda Wilkerson and her friend Mark Williamson of Lake, MS; and Patricia Neese of Lake, MS; two sisters, Floy Wall and Rexa Walters both of Forest, MS; one brother, Marshall Gunn of Forest, MS; fifteen grandchildren including Tammy Ferguson, whom she raised; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Hirman Wilkerson, Kenneth Leach, Lee Brown, Terry Brown. Wayne Jordon, Chuck Parks, Johnathan Richardson.
