Nena Elizabeth Welch

Mrs. Nena Elizabeth Welch, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Beehive in Newton, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Friday, February 10, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services will take place in our Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Forest, MS. Bro. Doyle Boyles will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Mrs. Welch was born to Terrance Lewis and Myrtle Bailey on February 4, 1930, in Scott County, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro, MS. Mrs. Welch loved gardening, quilting, sewing and crocheting.
Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husband, Alton E. Welch; parents; Terrance and Myrtle Lewis; granddaughter, Gabrielle Lynn Palmertree; great grandchildren, Zach Watkins and Bubba Wayne Summers; sons-in-law, Tommy Palmertree and John Macaluso; brother, Ernest Lewis and sister, Nancy Hocutt. She is survived by her four daughters, Nena Watkins, Alta Joyce Macaluso of Hillsboro, MS, Jo Ponder (Robert) of Puckett, MS and Rachel Hill (James) of Forest, MS; sister, Una Clyde Sanders of Utica, MS; brother, Marshall Lewis of Harperville, MS; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Palmertree, Elvis Shaw, Daniel Summers, Ryan Hill, Robert Ponder and James Hill.
