Mr. Earnest Allen Waltman, age 78, passed away on Thursday September 28, 2017 at his home in Lake, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday September 29, 2017 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS and again on Saturday September 30, 2017 from 10:30AM until 10:50AM at First Baptist Church in Lake, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church in Lake, MS with Bro. Ken McLemore and Bro. Travis Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Dennis Cemetery in Lake, MS. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Waltman had lived in Lake, MS for fifty-two years, where he moved from Smith County, MS and the Kalem Community. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, and Trustee. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and cooking for the Men’s Breakfast at church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ora Waltman; and his sister, Pamela Killens. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Waltman of Lake, MS; his daughter, Melissa May (Steve) of Lake, MS; two sisters, Mary Burns of Sebastopol, MS and Eula Fay King of Portland, TN; one brother, Oliver Waltman (Zonia) of Pelham, AL; six grandchildren, Laci Bridges, Jacob Simmons, Anna Simmons, Joshua May, Stephanie Creel, and Marilee Laiheugue; two great-grandchildren, Bobby Joe Bridges and Kinnen Laiheugue; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Granville Freeman, Bill Freeman, David Freeman, Darryl Waltman, Jason Waltman, and Larry Parks.
