Mrs. Bennie Lee (Phillips) Vanderford went to sleep at her home in Lindale, TX and woke up in her eternal home in Heaven on August 2, 2022.
Bennie Lee was affectionately known as “Moma” to her husband and 2 boys, “Grandma” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and “BOO-BOO” or “Miss Bennie” to her extended family and friends. She was Born to Bennie Phillips and Essie Lee (Gibbons) Phillips on January 7,1939.
Boo-Boo married Roy “Dude” Vanderford on May 2, 1961. They built a home together with there two sons Ronnie and Lonnie “Bucky”. They spent a number of years in Laurel, MS raising their boys and running a business together.
They returned to the Morton area in the late 1980s, spending the reminder of Roy’s life operating several business and loving and serving their family and church family at Parkway Baptist Church.
Miss Bennie continued to serve at Parkway in any way she could until her move to Lindale, TX in November of 2021 to spend her final days with her son Bucky.
She loved her family, she loved her LORD. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but she is right where she wants to be.
There is no more wondering or guessing, she knows what Heaven is like!
“Boo-Boo” was preceded in death by her husband Roy, son Ronnie, parents Bennie and Essie Phillips and sisters, Verdell Blackwell and Sybil Bilyeau.
She is survived by her son Bucky Vanderford (Leona) of Lindale, TX, three grandchildren, Tiffany Vanderford of Forest, MS, Courtney Jolly (Jeremy) of Lindale, TX and Steven Vanderford (Branda) of Pelahatchie, MS, twelve great-grandchildren. Her sister Penny Bufkin (Billy) of Pulaski, MS and a numerous nieces and nephews.
