Morton

Tyler Wade Nichols, a lifelong resident of Morton, Mississippi, passed away tragically and unexpectedly on March 20, 2026. Born on December 18, 1996, in Hinds County, Mississippi, Tyler lived his life deeply rooted in the community that shaped him.

Known for his avid love of the outdoors, Tyler was a passionate deer hunter who found great joy and peace in the natural world. Beyond the wilderness, his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family and friends, with a special devotion to his beloved son, Zayden Wade Nichols. His presence was a source of strength and warmth to those around him.

Tyler’s surviving family includes his mother, Ladonna (Cissy) Upton; his father, Terrance Nichols, and Beverly; his brother, Jonathan Nichols, and Megan. The family is also eagerly anticipating the arrival of a baby girl, a new light and hope. Tyler’s girlfriend, Shemyia Lyles, remains close to the family during this difficult time. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who were dear to his heart and who cherished him deeply.

Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert (Bob) and Birdie Alford; his paternal grandparents, Cleveland and Patricia Nichols; and his uncle, Charles Ray Alford.

Though Tyler's life ended far too soon, his spirit—as vibrant and enduring as the Mississippi landscapes he loved—will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory is cherished, and his legacy of love, joy, and connection to family and nature will continue to inspire. Tyler Wade Nichols will be profoundly missed, yet always remembered with honor and respect.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
