Theda Padget Alford

It was with great joy and love Theda Eloise Padget Alford was welcomed into the world February 2, 1947.  Her parents were the late Fred Terry Padget, Jr and Gladys Juanita Prestage Padget both of Jackson, MS. It was with compassion and mercy that Our Lord lifted her on June 12, 2024, from her earthly path.  Her journey here may be complete but she will truly be missed and celebrated thru all who knew and loved her.
 
Theda was a talented musician and twirler in her younger days. She was a member of the Rainbows and attended Alta Woods Baptist Church in south Jackson, MS. Graduating from Central High School in 1965 she soon married her forever love, Samuel Jackson Alford of Morton, MS. They made their home in Vicksburg, MS and both worked for Waterways Experiment Station. They had one precious daughter, Stephanie. After Sammy’s untimely death, Theda went on to welcome three grandchildren into her heart.
 
Theda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Terry Prestage Padget. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie and beloved son-in-law Tom Jones of Puckett, MS; Grandchildren, Jackson Miller (Courtney) of Vicksburg, MS, Abbie Taylor (Race) of Learned, MS, and Kinley Jones (Jack) of Puckett, MS; great-grandson Sawyer Hambright of Vicksburg, MS and one sister Fredie Padget Miller (Jimmy) of Lena, MS. Thru her blended family Theda gained a grandson Michael Jones  (Star) of Vicksburg, MS and a granddaughter Anna Burditte (Chris) of Tupelo, MS; great-grandchildren, John Thomas Jones, Bohannon Jones, and Saylor Caves. Continuing the survivors are a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
 
Graveside Services will be June 13, 2024 at 5:00PM at Morton Memorial Gardens, Morton, MS. May God grant peace and understanding to each and bring comfort to us from the memories held dear today which will entwine our heartstrings into the treasures of tomorrow. Now at the foot of the throne may she Rest in Peace throughout eternity.
