Clarissa (Rissa) Frazier Tagert, 60, born on November 27, 1962, passed away peacefully at her home in Branch, MS on December 21, 2022. Visitation will be held at New Liberty Baptist Church Friday, December 23rd. from 11:00 AM until 12:50 PM. with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM. Bro Randy Rigney and Bro. T.J. Bates will be officiating. Burial will be at Branch Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Rissa was the secretary for Pisgah High School for a number of years. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her loving husband and family. She could often be found at a baseball field proudly cheering on her grandsons, or listening to stories of their latest hunting or fishing trips. Rissa became an advocate for many people, especially women, who were going through various types of cancer. She counseled them and walked with them through their experience, while witnessing to them and telling what Jesus had done for her throughout her journey. Rissa was fiercely determined to live her life for the Lord and kept Him as her focus during her walk.
Rissa is preceded in death by her father, Burnnie Frazier of Pulaski, father-in-law Ed Tagert of Branch, sister-in-law Margie Hill (Clyde) of Donaldsonville, LA, and grandchild, Charlie McCurdy.
Rissa is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bobby Tagert of Branch, mother, Otense Frazier of Pulaski, mother-in-law, Aline Tagert of Branch, daughter DeAnna McCurdy (Adam), grandsons Avry and Carson McCurdy of Branch, brothers Michael Frazier (Stacey) of Pulaski, Xian Jiang (Hein Lee) of Brandon, brother in laws David Tagert (Wanda) of Pearl, Dalton (Marquetta) of Branch, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be John Neal, Jeff Meyer, Kevin Carr, Willie Farmer, Wendell Phillips Jr., and Rusty Phillips. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Myers, Ricky Myers, Timothy Phillips, Gill Phillips, and Gerald Frazier.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that you donate Gideon Bible in her honor. Gideon order forms can be obtained at New Liberty Baptist Church.
