It is with profound sadness and heartfelt respect that we announce the passing of Stacy Renee Lucas, a beloved lifelong resident of Morton, Mississippi. Born on July 20, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, Stacy peacefully departed from this life on May 18, 2026, at her residence in Morton.
Stacy was a cherished member of the St. Luke Church of God in Christ located in Pelahatchie, Mississippi. She was known far and wide for her vivacious spirit and warm personality. Always the life of any gathering, Stacy found great joy in being surrounded by family and friends, embodying the true essence of community and kinship.
Professionally, Stacy devoted several years of her life serving as a dispatcher with the Morton Police Department. Her dedication to her work reflected her commitment to the safety and well-being of others, a testament to her compassionate nature and strong work ethic.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mark A. Lucas, and her devoted children, Ashley Spann and Demarcus "Malik" Lucas. Stacy’s family circle also includes her cherished grandchild, Ashton Wilson, who brought great joy to her life. Among her surviving family members are special nieces Christy Johnson and Kennika Spann, as well as her sister, Willie Scott. She is also mourned by her brothers, David (Lucy) Spann and Kevin (Melissa) Spann.
Stacy was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lillie Ruth Spann, and dearly missed siblings Earlinda Johnson, Gwendolyn Newell, Cathy Wilson, Dora Lee Spann, Curtis Newell, Ivy Newell, and Robbie Spann. She also grieves the loss of her brother-in-law, Freddie Johnson Sr.
Family, friends, and all who knew Stacy are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on May 29, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services - Morton, located at 3054 Hwy 80 West, Morton, MS 39117. This gathering will provide an opportunity to celebrate Stacy’s vibrant life, her unwavering love for those close to her, and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.
Stacy Renee Lucas will be remembered as a beacon of light, whose unwavering loyalty and joyful spirit touched the hearts of many. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to know her. In celebrating her life, we hold close the comfort of her presence and the lasting impressions she made on our lives.
