Rudolph Odis Adcox, 67, of Forest, Mississippi, passed away on October 29, 2024. Known affectionately by his friends as Sonny, he was born on February 13, 1957, and was a lifelong resident of Mississippi.
Sonny dedicated 39 years working with US Foods, where he was respected and valued by his co-workers. His true passions, however, lay in the great outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, Sonny found great joy in hunting, fishing, and caring for his animals. His love for nature was so profound that he built a lake, a project that will always stand as his testament and legacy.
Those who knew Sonny will remember him not only for his love of nature but also for his infectious laughter and his deep commitment to his friends and family. He was a faithful husband to his wife, Billie Jean Adcox. Surviving family members include brother Michael Paul Adcox, two nieces, Sheree Scott and Ashley Richmond, and his nephew, Tyler Adcox, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Odis Adcox and Mary Martha Bell Adcox. After his dad’s death, Sonny loyally loved and cared for his mother. His legacy will live on in the lake he designed and built, and the memories cherished by all who knew him.
