Shirley Fay Sawyer

Shirley Fay Sawyer, born October 31, 1941, in Scott County, Mississippi, passed away on September 03, 2026, at Lackey Convalescent Home in Forest, Mississippi.

She lived most of her life in Morton, Mississippi, formerly of Pearl, MS. She was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church in Morton. Mrs. Sawyer was a member of the Scott County Homemaker's Club and was a member of the Southern Bell's Camping Club, which she and her husband, Chester, enjoyed going on these special trips. She and her husband were volunteers for the "We Care Mission Food Distribution".  She was very active in the local NARFE Chapter.

Shirley will be remembered with love by those who survive her: her grandson, Bryan Meador; her son-in-law, Ray Meador; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Sawyer; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Sirois and Frisky Roland. Each of them carries forward cherished memories of her life and the place she held in their family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Sawyer; her parents, Jesse and Flora Roland; her daughter, Suzy Meador; her son, Tommy Sawyer; and her brothers, Jimmy and Melvin Roland. Their memories remained an enduring part of her life, and her family takes comfort in the thought of their reunion.

Visitation for Shirley Fay Sawyer will be held on September 07, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, located at 3054 Hwy 80 West, Morton, Mississippi. Her funeral service will follow there at 12:00 p.m., Bro. Joe Crane will be officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest at the Faulkner Cemetery, Faulkner Graveyard Road, Morton, Mississippi.
