Sebastian Lopez Gomez, born on February 22, 1981, in Aldea Rio Seco, San Mateo Ixtatan, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, passed away on July 5, 2026, at UMMC in Jackson, Mississippi. Sebastian’s journey through life was marked by devotion to his family, quiet strength, and a deep connection to the places and people that shaped him.
Sebastian lived in Morton, MS, for 14 years, and the move from Alabama instilled in him a sense of resilience and grounding that carried him through his days. With every chapter of his life, Sebastian remained fiercely proud of his heritage and steadfast in his values. He was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Forest, MS. Sebastian loved playing his guitar and spending time with his family and friends.
Sebastian is survived by his beloved wife, Eulalia Miguel Baltazar, whose unwavering support and companionship enriched his life in countless ways. He is also survived by his father, Juan Lopez Lucas, whose guidance and example helped Sebastian become the person he was known for being: dedicated, thoughtful, and compassionate. Sebastian also leaves behind five children, three sisters, and one brother.
Sebastian was employed at Koch Foods, and those who knew Sebastian remember him as a dependable presence and a source of strength for family and friends alike. His life was centered around the well-being of others, and he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, loyalty, and kindness.
Family, friends, and all who wish to honor Sebastian are invited to the visitation, which will be held on July 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1341 US-80, Forest, MS 39074. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 1:30 p.m. As loved ones gather, they will find comfort in shared memories and the enduring impact Sebastian made on those fortunate enough to know him.
Sebastian’s departure is deeply felt by his surviving family and all who shared in his life. His spirit, shaped by his roots and enriched by his journey, will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
