RL Anderson

Sep 20, 1950 — Sep 22, 2026

R.L. Anderson was born on September 20, 1950, to the late Elijah Anderson and Annie May Smith Anderson Luckett. On September 22, 2026, just two days after celebrating his 76th birthday, R.L. departed this earthly life.

At an early age, R.L. accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, establishing a foundation of faith that remained a meaningful part of his life.

R.L. was a hardworking man who spent much of his career working in the poultry industry. He understood the value of hard work and providing for his family.

Those who knew R.L. knew him as a man of few words, but when he spoke, it was noteworthy. He cared deeply for the people in his life and showed kindness and love to those who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence and unique personality will be remembered by his family and friends for years to come.

In his quiet time, R.L. enjoyed relaxing and watching television. He especially loved football and was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Watching his favorite team play was one of the simple pleasures he truly enjoyed.

R.L. was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Anderson; his parents, Elijah Anderson and Annie May Smith Anderson Luckett; two brothers, Tommie Lee “Son” Anderson and Willie Luckett; and his sister, Elaine (Leroy) Levy.

He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving children: YuMarcus Anderson of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Dr. Keneshia (William) Lee of Morton, Mississippi; Elijah Anderson of Lena, Mississippi; Tosha Mitchell of Lena, Mississippi; LaToya (Kenny) Moran of Indianapolis, Indiana; Martrall Camper of Mendenhall, Mississippi; Martrice Camper of Mendenhall, Mississippi; and Crystal Camper of Mendenhall, Mississippi.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: A.B. (Jennell) Anderson of Lena, Mississippi; Jeannie (Robert) Kincaid of Carthage, Mississippi; Katherine Johnson of Jackson, Mississippi; and Jimmy Anderson of New York, New York; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

R.L.'s earthly journey may have come to an end, but the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family will remember his strength, his loving nature, his kindness, and the special way he touched each of their lives.
