Earl Posey

Mr. Earl Posey, age 82, passed away on Sunday March 26, 2017 the St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2017 from 4:30PM until 8:00PM and again on Wednesday March 29, 2017 from 9:30AM until 10:50AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 11:00AM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake, MS with burial following in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Duncan, Rev. J. R. Lee and Rev. Josh Lang. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Posey had lived in the Salem Community in Scott County for most of his life and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was a founding member of the Central Mississippi Trailriders Association, and loved farming, especially his mules and his horses. He retired in 1995 from the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District. Earl will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timmy Posey in 1983; his parents, Shine and Christine Posey; and his sister, Elizabeth Posey Bulter. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mrs. Zellene Posey of Lake, MS; his daughter, Tammy Stokes of Pelahatchie, MS; his sister, Betty Waggoner of Forest, MS; his sister-in-law, Maybeth Lang; two grandchildren, Andy Stokes (Ashlie) and Morah Stokes; two great grandchildren, Clark Stokes and Jack Stokes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Josh Lang, Garrett Lang, Jesse Lang, Danny Ware, Shelby Lang, Johnny Posey, Steve Ware, and Joey Emmons.
