Patricia Ann Weaver Mayes Brock
April 07, 1942 - October 12, 2026
Patricia Ann Weaver Mayes Brock, a resident of Lake, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home on October 12, 2026. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake. Her son, Steve Mayes, and her pastor, Bro. Bobby Everett, will officiate. The burial will take place at Conehatta Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pat was born in Newton County, MS, to Marion Houston and Nettie Mae Emmons Weaver on April 7, 1942, and lived in Newton County all her life, primarily in the Hazel community north of Lake. During her career, she was employed by the Newton Company, the Newton County Bank, the Newton County Circuit Clerk's Office, as a court reporter for Circuit Judge Marcus Gordon, at the Mississippi State University Coastal Plains Experiment Station, and retired from the Mississippi State Department of Health. She was a longtime member of Hazel Baptist Church but joined the Pine Ridge Baptist Church some twenty-plus years ago and was an active member for as long as her health allowed. Pat was gifted to use her hands in many kinds of crafts and arts, including crocheting, quilting, painting, sewing, and she dearly loved planting and growing flowers. She was a wonderful cook who delighted in preparing meals for her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, Marion Houston Weaver, and her mother, Nettie Mae Emmons Weaver; an infant sister, Marion Mae Weaver; her sisters, Willie Mae Bunch and Carolyn Nester; her brothers, Howard Weaver, James Weaver, and Sidney Emmons; and her beloved grandson Ben Mayes.
She leaves behind her sons, Steve Mayes (Ann) and Joey Mayes (Deneshia); five grandchildren, Beth Mayes, Dylan Mayes (Mikayla), Brooks Holifield, Riley Mayes Harrell (Craig), Tim Mayes; and five great-grandchildren, Brinley and Blakely Mayes, and Emmie, Lula, and Lottie Harrell.
Her family is very grateful for those who provided care for her as her health declined over the past weeks of her life: Madison Nester, Beth Grant, and Lisa Jay. Gratitude is also extended to the nurses, aides, chaplain, and other support personnel of Agape Care Group Hospice and the Ochsner Clinic of Lake, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Mayes, Tim Mayes, Brooks Hollifield, Craig Harrell, Mike Nester, and Matthew Nester.
Wolfe Funeral Home of Lake is in charge of arrangements. Instead of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Pat. She was a faithful donor to St. Jude for many years because of the care they provided for her grandson Ben. The address is ALSAC / St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
