Mr. Jim Edward Parker (James), age 93, passed away Monday August, 20, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center Leake in Carthage, MS. Visitation will be held Friday August 24, 2018 at 10:00AM until 10:50AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services will follow at 11:00AM at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Burial will be held at Leesburg Baptist Cemetery, there will be no graveside services. Officiating will be Bro. Jeff Jones. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements
Mr. Parker was a native of Rankin County, MS. He had lived in Carthage, MS for the past 28 years, having moved from Canton, MS. He is a Baptist in Faith. He was a member of Wiggins Baptist Church in Carthage, MS He served his country faithfully during World War Two in the Navy and in the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army and he received the Bronze Star during World War Two. He loved watching wrestling, westerns and his horses.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Lillie Parker, his son, Edward R. Parker, his son-in-law, Cliff Romine, sisters, Imogene Woods, Helen Atkinson, Audrey Goode, Kate Squires, Denice Jenkins, Margaret Waltman, brothers, Fred Parker, and Grover Parker. He is survived by his wife, Beth Parker of Carthage, MS; sons, James M. Parker of Carthage, MS; Brady Thompson of Carthage, MS; daughters, Susan Cook (Jimmy) of Brandon, MS; Kathy Romine of Athens, AL; sister, Bertadee Squires of Morton, MS; brother, Melvin Parker (Joann) of Morton, MS; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren;
Honorary Pallbearers will be Brady Thompson, Bradley Thompson, Kim Cook, Corey Romine, Connor Romine, Hunter Lewis and Alex Thompson.
