Oky Yazmin Negron, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 14, 2025, in Forest, Mississippi, at the age of 49. Born on January 23, 1976, in Costa Rica, Oky lived her life with unwavering devotion to her family and community.
For the past eighteen years, Oky called Forest, MS, her home, where she became an integral part of the local community. She was a cherished member of Iglesia de Dios Nueva Vida in Pearl, MS, a place that nurtured her spiritual journey and allowed her to connect with those around her.
Oky's passion for helping others was evident in her dedication to cook for and feed the homeless in Jackson, MS. Her selfless acts of kindness reflected her big heart and deep compassion for those in need. It was her dream to establish a foundation called "Hugged By Jesus," a vision that spoke to her desire to uplift and support others.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Carlos Negron of Forest, MS, and her four daughters: Oky Jimenez (Marco) of Ridgeland, MS, Raychlle Sandi (Jose Leal) of Forest, MS, Nazaret Evans of Forest, MS, and Ariany Negron of Forest, MS. Oky also leaves behind her seven sisters and two brothers, whose bonds with her were filled with love and shared memories. Her legacy will continue through her five treasured grandchildren, Isaac Jimenez, Reina Jimenez, Bella Jimenez, Byron Leal, and Nicolas Leal.
Visitation will be held on August 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 4:00 PM at Iglesia de Dios Nueva Vida, located at 403 Roberts St, Pearl, MS, 39208. Family, friends, and all who knew Oky are invited to come together to celebrate her remarkable life and the love she so deeply shared.
