Myrtle Bowie entered eternal rest on April 25, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi, at the age of 92. Born on November 20, 1932, in Ludlow, Mississippi, Myrtle was a beacon of light for all who knew her. Her kind spirit and nurturing heart shaped the lives of her family and friends, cultivating relationships filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories.

Myrtle always found joy in the beauty of flowers. Her favorite pastimes included soaking in the refreshing breeze outdoors, working through the challenging clues of crossword puzzles, and sharing moments of warmth with her beloved dog, Coco. Most of all, Myrtle treasured the time spent with her family.

Myrtle is survived by her loving daughters, Rutha Bowie, Marie Honeysucker, Beverly Bowie, and Angela Bowie-Brown, as well as her son, Billy Ray Bowie. Additionally, she is fondly remembered by her sister, Mary Jo Williams, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Each cherished one carries a piece of Myrtle's spirit, ensuring her legacy will continue to flourish through generations.

Myrtle is reunited in spirit with those who have passed before her, including her dear parents, Oscar and Mary Fuller, her husband, Tebbie Bowie, and four siblings. Their memories live on in the hearts of her surviving family, reminding them of the love that binds them even through loss.

Family, friends, and community are invited to celebrate Myrtle’s life during the visitation services at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on April 29, 2025, and at Mt Zion M. B. Church in Ludlow, MS, on April 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. Her funeral service will take place at the same location starting at 2:00 PM, offering an opportunity for all who loved her to come together to reflect and honor her incredible life.

Myrtle Bowie impacted the lives of many with her warmth, and through her legacy of love and compassion, she will forever remain in the hearts of those she left behind.
