Miss Gigi Pier Pope

Miss Gigi Pier Pope, a cherished lifelong resident of Lena, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 30, 2026. Born on August 9, 1962, in Hinds County, Mississippi, Gigi’s life was marked by dedication to both her community and family, leaving a profound legacy for those who knew her.

Gigi was a proud graduate of East Rankin Academy, class of 1980, and furthered her education at Clarke College. She devoted much of her professional career to the Mississippi Workers' Compensation office, where her commitment and diligent work earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her professional achievements, Gigi was involved in her community as a member of Lena Baptist Church in Lena, Mississippi.

She was known for her loving nature, especially her joy in spending time with her family. Gigi especially loved taking the younger members of the family shopping, creating treasured memories for all involved. Her warm spirit and kind heart were felt by everyone fortunate to be part of her life.

Miss Gigi Pier Pope is survived by her mother, Iola Pope; her brother Chris Pope and Melanie; and her sister-in-law, Twyla Pope, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Pope; her sister, Phyllis Lynn Denson; and her brother, Sebastian “Bubba” Pope.

The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation on May 4, 2026, from 11:15 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services - Morton, located at 3054 Hwy 80 West, Morton, Mississippi. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location on May 4 at 1:00 p.m., providing an opportunity to celebrate Gigi’s life and legacy.  Gigi will be laid to rest at the Ludlow Cemetery in Ludlow, Mississippi

Miss Gigi Pier Pope’s presence enriched the lives of those around her, and she will be deeply missed. Her enduring love, kindness, and dedication stand as a testament to a life well lived and a spirit that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
