Michael Johnson, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on July 3, 2026, at his residence in Lena, Mississippi. Born on September 23, 1975, in Hinds County, Mississippi, Michael’s life was marked by resilience, deep familial bonds, and the lasting impact he made upon those around him.
Michael’s journey began in Hinds County, where the foundations of family and community shaped his early years. Over the decades that followed, Michael touched countless lives through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those he loved. He was a member of the Harmony M.B. Church in Lena, MS. Michael loved his music and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. He will be remembered as a steadfast presence, dependable and compassionate, always willing to offer a helping hand or a listening ear.
Michael leaves behind a family that cherished his presence. He is survived by his fiancée, Zeola Anderson, his devoted son, R.J. Johnson White, daughters Heidi White and Malika Mitchell, his loving sisters Mae Patrick and Darlene Johnson Hord, and his brothers Willie James Johnson and Willie Rae Johnson. Also, many nieces and nephews benefited from Michael’s wisdom and warmth. Each of these family members carries forward his legacy of care and compassion, drawing strength from the precious memories they shared with him.
His passing is also mourned by several beloved family members who preceded him in death. These include his parents, Andrew Johnson and Darritha Johnson; brothers Claude B. Johnson, Willie James Johnson, and Andrew Johnson; sisters McKisha Johnson, Rena Johnson, Fannie Johnson, Elaine Johnson, and Ula Faye Johnson; and others dear to him: Emma Jean Burkes and Fontaine Patrick. Though no longer present in body, their spirits are forever intertwined with his.
Family, friends, and members of the community are invited to gather in memory of Michael. Visitation will be held on July 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, Mississippi. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM on July 18, 2026, also at Wolf Funeral Services. Following the service, interment will be at Harmony M.B. Cemetery in Lena, Mississippi. Kindly note that there will be no graveside service.
As we say goodbye, we honor Michael Johnson for the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the invaluable place he holds in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. His memory will remain a guiding light, encouraging those who survive him to emulate his steadfast kindness and enduring spirit.
