Terrel Mckay

April 9, 1953 — October 6, 2018

Mr. Terrel Thornton McKay age 65, of the Holly Bush Community, near Pelahatchie, MS passed away on Saturday October 6, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held Wednesday October 10, 2018 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services will be held Thursday October 11, 2018 at 11:00AM at Holly Bush United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS followed by a graveside service. Officiating will be Rev. Ted Giordano and Rev. Anna Fleming Jones. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Terrel worked for his father T.D. McKay, helping to build houses in his youth. After graduation from Pelahatchie High School in 1971 and attending ECCC, Terrel worked in retail for Howard Brothers in Mississippi andArkansas. When he returned to Mississippi, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps to build and repair homes. After several years, he left the construction business to drive 18-wheelers for Merchants, Rapid, Jitney Jungle, Winn Dixie, and Sandhill Group, LLC. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was delighted when he became a Papa. He loved to give the grand kids sweet treats, and then send them home.
He was preceded in death by his father, T.D. McKay; grandparents, Ben and Dollye McKay, Wilmer Henton and Virginia Lee Thornton. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Susan Boyd McKay of Pelahatchie, MS; his mother, Mildred “Millie” Thornton McKay of Pelahatchie, MS; daughter, Jennifer McKay (Alvin and Mary Brown) of Pelahatchie, MS; son, Warren McKay (Beth) of Sandhill, MS; brother, Paul McKay (Allyson) of Picayune, MS; four grandchildren, Carter Brown, John Warren McKay, Boyd McKay, and Elis McKay. He is also survived by other family and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Gunner Till, Trey Till, Brian Till, Matthew Boyd, Andy Boyd, and David McKay. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Till and Dexter Till.
