Mrs. Vanetta E. McGhee, age 68, a resident of Polkville, MS. passed away on Thursday February 5, 2015 at Brandon Nursing & Rehab Center in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 8, 2015 from 2:30 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Monday February 9, 2015 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Polkville, MS. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery in Raleigh, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Barron Price and Rev. Zach Kilpatrick. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. McGhee was a lifelong resident of Polkville, MS. She was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Polkville, MS. She was a member of the Red Hat Society at Brandon Nursing & Rehab and President of the Recreation Club. She loved to paint, make jewelry and ceramics.
Mrs. McGhee is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Dale McGhee in 1985; daughter, Martha Reeves Butler in 2005; father, Richard Sonnenberg; step-father, C.L. Sumrall; sister, Beverly Lawson. She is survived by her mother, Ella Sumrall of Polkville, MS.; two sons, Rev. Bryan Reeves and wife Beverly of Chapman, KS., Leland McGhee and wife Sharon of Polkville, MS.; one sister, Carol Meadows of Polkville, MS.; one brother, James Sonnenberg and wife Brenda of Polkville, MS.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Reeves, Malachi Reeves, Rusty Brown, Jason Shoemaker, Bradley Meadows, Bradley Meadows, Steve Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers are Ashley Traxler, Tony Colyer.
