Thomas Clifton McCrary, 77, of Sandhill, MS died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Tom was born and raised in Goshen Springs, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Joy Ann Worley McCrary, one daughter Carla Dawne McCrary Evans and husband Charles David Evans; three grandchildren, Alexander David Evans, twin girls, Emily Ann and Lindsey Robin Evans; one brother-in-law, Bobby Worley; one sister-in-law, Wilmath McCrary and and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for forty years. Tom retired from the Ms. Department of Wildlife, fisheries and parks after 30 years of service and after retirement he and Joy enjoyed traveling. Tom made many friends while RVing, and he loved Mountain View, AR. He was a mason for over 50 years and was a member of the Tyrian Lodge in Brandon, and also a Shriner.
Visitation will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and again on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:45 pm. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm with burial following in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jason Holland. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton is in charge of arrangements.
The family wishes to convey their deepest gratitude to all the doctors at Premier Medical Group of Jackson, especially his long time friend and doctor L.H. Fulcher, MD.
As per Tom’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, P.O. Box 7, Sandhill, MS 39161.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Mitchell, Windale McCrary, Bradlee McCrary, Arnold Maddox, Don Thames, and Bobby Worley. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Carter, Jack Herring, Sonny Hutchison, Roger Penn, and Tommy Swindle.
