Mary Omega Purvis, a cherished lifelong resident of Morton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at MS Care Center in Morton. Born on December 15, 1946, in Scott County, Mississippi, Mary devoted her life to her family, her community, and her beloved profession as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Mrs. Purvis served with compassion and dedication at the MS Care Center for twenty years, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and unwavering commitment to care. Beyond her professional life, Mary was a devoted member of Morton Baptist Church, embracing her faith and community with the same warmth and generosity that characterized every aspect of her life.
Mary’s love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for tending to her flowers and birds, especially hummingbirds, which brought her great joy. She found happiness in family gatherings, where she relished the simple pleasures of sitting on her front porch, sipping coffee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Essie Mae Jackson, and her brothers Lamar "Doodle," Johnny "T," Dale "Fidgy" (Cindy), Russell "We-Ty" (Shirley) Jackson, and Jerry Allen Purvis.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Ricky Allen Purvis (Diane), and her grandchild, Ally Elizabeth Purvis, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength.
Visitation will be held on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, located at 3054 Hwy 80 West. The funeral service will follow at the same location beginning at 11:00 a.m. There will be no graveside service. Family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by Mary’s presence are invited to attend and commemorate a life well lived.
Mary Omega Purvis’s enduring spirit, gentle kindness, and steadfast devotion to her family and community will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will continue to blossom like the flowers she so tenderly cared for, a testament to a life filled with grace and love.
