Jimmy Britt Lovett, 72, a resident of Forest passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at his residence in Forest, MS. Visitation will be Monday January 31, 2011, from 8:45 until 10:45 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Forest United Methodist Church, Forest, MS. Funeral services will be at Forest United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in the Homewood Methodist Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Patrick, Pastor Tim Lott, and Tucker Boyers will deliver the eulogy. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lovett was a life long resident of Forest and a member of Forest United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Forest High School and the University of Mississippi. He was a Sunday School teacher and choir member for forty years and has also held many positions of leadership in his church. He was Director of Mississippi Polled Hereford Association, President of Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association, President of Forest Lions Club, and he served as Director of the Bank of Forest for thirty years. Mr. Lovett retired as an Insurance Agent and Real Estate Broker, and Certified Appraiser.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Ann Lovett of Forest; two sons, Allen Lovett and wife Jill of Forest; Jeffrey Lovett and wife Ashley of Forest; two grandchildren, Britt Lovett, and Cale Lovett; one aunt, May Boyers of Jackson, MI, and a number of cousins.
Pallbearers will be Tucker Boyers, Charles Smith, Dan Willey, Joe Willey, Steve Chainey, Rhett Mitchell, and Bill Lovett. Honorary pallbearers will be Bank of Forest Directors and Officers, and the Witness Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to the Forest United Methodist Church library fund.
