Larry Joseph Murdie

Larry Joseph Murdie, age 73, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Larry was born on September 23, 1951, to Clarence Murdie and Jane Walrath in Gouverneur, NY. He had lived in Forest, MS for the past thirty-five years. Larry loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, collecting antiques, metalworking, and watching westerns. He served his country in the Marines for two years and had a great career with Hughes and Raytheon. 

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Murdie; his parents, Clarence and Jane Murdie and his brother, Clarence “Jerry” Murdie. He is survived by his three children, Casey Murdie (Brandi), Tami Hollingsworth (Ted), and Kelli Clayton (Van); his siblings, Grace Woods, John Murdie, Mark Murdie, Claressa Fitzgerald, Susan Labow, Bertie; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
