Kenneth "Kenny" Richard Miller, a dedicated public servant and cherished family man, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the Mississippi Care Center of Morton. Born on April 15, 1950, in Greenwood, Mississippi, Kenny was a beloved figure in his community, serving as a former alderman for Flowood from 1989 until 2001 and holding the position of Mayor Pro-tem for four years. His commitment to public service was further exemplified by his roles at the Rankin County Sheriff's Office and the Flowood Police Department, and he worked as a security officer for various companies throughout his career.
Kenny was actively engaged in the local business community as a member of Rankin First, the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce, and he held positions on the Chamber's Board of Directors and the Rankin County Executive Committee. His contributions to the community extended beyond governance; he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher at Pelahatchie Baptist Church, where he shared his faith and values with those around him.
Kenny had a passion for life that included his love for golf, a pastime that brought him joy and relaxation. He took pride in his family and in the simple pleasures of home life, such as cutting the grass. Notably, he enjoyed serving as the scoreboard operator for East Rankin Academy sports, supporting local youth through his involvement.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Sheila Miller; his children, Kay Miller Sills (Mitch), Mark Miller (Kristen), Ashley Oltremari (Chazz), and Bailey Stogner (Timothy); and his grandchildren, Landon Sills (Bessy), Mikayla Sills, Walker Miller, and Collins Stogner. Kenny leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Louis Russ Miller and Katie Mae Miller, along with his siblings: Alvin Miller, Charles Miller, Earl Miller, David Miller, and his sister Jessie Mae Fulcher.
