June Smith Harvey

May 17, 1934 — August 6, 2023

Knoxville, TN

On Saturday, August 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, June Smith Harvey answered the divine call to join the Lord. Visitation for both Robert and June will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. With a Graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM at Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS. Burial will follow at Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS.

Preceding her in this eternal journey were her husband of 68 years, Robert Harvey; her parents, Osbourne and Ouida Horn Smith; and her three siblings: Bobbie Smith Rester, Betty Smith, and Dalton Smith. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Lori Mathis (Rick) of Canton, MS, and Lynn (Joe) Liu of Knoxville, TN. June's legacy continues through her five grandchildren: Lindsey Durham (David), Courtney Fleming, Bryce Bell (Ryann), Brennan Liu (Hannah), and Olivia Liu. The circle of her influence extends to six great-grandchildren: Grayson and Sutton Durham, and Logann, Ronan, Lakenn, and Lylah Bell and a number of nieces and nephews, including Deborah Rester Allen (Ronnie), Kenton Smith (Jean) and Allen Radouanovich (Frederique).

June graced the world with her presence in Raleigh, MS, on May 17, 1934. An integral part of her community from the very start, she blossomed into an active member, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. In 1952, she achieved the honor of being crowned Miss Forest High School upon graduating from there. Love guided her steps as she married her high school sweetheart, Robert, embarking on a journey that led them as far as the shores of Hawaii during his Navy service. Yet, the call of their beloved Mississippi brought them back to their roots, where they nurtured a family and forged lifelong friendships.

June's legacy is one of boundless kindness and an irrepressible spirit. Her presence had an enchanting effect, illuminating every room she entered. Whether crafting the most delectable cakes or weaving enchanting tales, she radiated an adoration for life's simplest pleasures that will resonate forever in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have cherished her.
