With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Josh L. Hall, who departed this life and went to his heavenly home on July 2, 2026, at the age of 37. He resided in Morton, MS with his wife and two boys, where they were members of the Springfield Baptist Church.
Though his time on earth was far too short, he filled every day with his faith, love, laughter, and purpose. Above all else, he loved Jesus Christ and truly lived a servant's heart, striving to be the best husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend that God called him to be. His faith was his foundation of his life and a source of strength to everyone who knew him.
His greatest joy in life was his family, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether he was cheering them on from the sidelines, coaching them, teaching them to fish, sharing stories or simply enjoying time together, his world revolved around his boys and wife.
Josh will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, unwavering faith, and his love for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. His legacy will live on through his boys, family, and the countless lives he touched, and sharing the precious memories shared by those who loved him.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Emily Hall, his cherished children, Levi and Lane Hall, his parents Randy (IIydia) Hall, Lisa Prestage and his in-laws, James "Jim" (Teresa) Walker, his siblings, John Austin Martin, Jessalyn Walker and Austin Walker, his grandparents Robbie Putnam, JR and Carolyn Lofton, His uncles Robert Hall and Joey (Anna) Prestage, his aunt Sarah Perry, his cousins Kristen (Josh) Phillips, Shasta (Brock) Owings, Brandon Hall, Yancey (Brittany) Crapps, his nieces and nephews; Hayes Phillips, Camille Phillips, Reese Phillips, Joseph Hall, Kaitlyn Martin, Caden Martin, Kayla Martin, Finley Walker, JT Shelley, Colt Shelley, Liam May and Boomer Jack May, along with a host of cousins, church family and friends.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandparents, Lamar and Doshia Prestage, Paulette and Mike Butler, JR Hall and Asa Putnam, his great uncle, James Perritt, and his second cousin, Shane Perritt, along with his cousin, Sheri Prestage. We take comfort in knowing that he now rests in the presence of his Saviour. Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. His race is finished, his faith has become sight, and one day we will see him again.
