Josephine Brown Watson, age 96, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at her residence in Morton, MS. Her visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM and Monday, February 12, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Her services will take places in our Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM. Her burial will follow at St. Peter/Blossom Hill Cemetery in Morton, MS. Rev. Robert Boyd, Rev. Rochelle Wright and Pastor Stanley James will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Josephine was born on April 15, 1927, to Joe Brown and Onie Cook. She was a lifelong resident of Scott County MS. Josephine loved her children. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, and cooking. Josephine was known as Grams by many.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, James Watson; her parents, Joe Brown and Onie Cook; her children, Jimmie Lee Lewis, Henritta Spivey, C.L. Spivey, Jr. and Annie Mae Brown; her sister, Catherine Brown Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Bettye Ann Jones (Willie) of Morton, MS, her son, Pearlie Joe Spivey of Morton, MS; her ten grandchildren; her twenty-three great grandchildren and eight great- great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren Marshall Lloyd, Marshall Lloyd, Jr., Keonte Lloyd, Sherman Evans, Jr., Jason Berry and Russell Banks, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Jones, Sherman Evans and Russell Banks, Sr.
