Edgar "Ed" Jones

Edgar “Ed” Jones, 81, born on June 11, 1940, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Baptist Golden Triangle Regional Medical Center in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 1:15 PM until 1:50 PM with services following at 2:00 PM all at Wolf Funeral Services Lake, Lake MS with Bro. Mickey Myers officiating. Burial will be at Sharon Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Lake, MS under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services Lake.
Ed was born in Walnut Grove, MS to Odell Jones and Mattie Sistrunk. He lived in Dallas,TX for a time, when he moved to Lake, MS in 1987. He was Primitive Baptist by faith and a member of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in Forest, MS. Ed was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and farming. He loved his family and friends very much.
Ed is proceeded in death by his wife Peggy Jones; parents, Odell and Mattie Jones; three brothers, Othnel “Ott” Jones, Elwin Sistrunk and Robert Sistrunk. He is survived by one son, Vince Edwards of Lake, MS; one daughter, Vaneesa Stevens, of Lake, MS; two nieces, Dennise Putnam of Carthage, MS and Kim Sikes of Paris, TX; one nephew, Wesley Jones of Walnut Grove, MS; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are D.P. Adams, Chad Hollingsworth, Zach Edwards, Ryan Sorey, Cody Sorey, and Brian Stevens; Honorary Pallbearers are Boyd Ware and Shawn Harris.
