John Mark Franklin, age 55, of the Forkville Community, passed away on July 20, 2025, in Brooksville, MS. Born on July 31, 1969, in Morton, MS, John Mark was a lifelong resident of the area and a beloved member of his community.
John Mark was a proud graduate of Morton High School, where he skillfully excelled as an athlete in both baseball and football, earning recognition for his dedication and talent. Following high school, he continued his passion for baseball at East Central Community College (ECCC).
His love for the outdoors was evident in the countless hours he spent hunting, fishing, boating, and engaging in beekeeping. He also had a fondness for riding horses, embracing the beauty of nature throughout his life.
As a respected member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Morton, MS, John Mark was known for his warm spirit and his commitment to his faith. His strong connections with family and friends painted a vivid picture of a man deeply loved by those around him.
He is survived by his father, Randy Franklin, and his two daughters, Tori Franklin and Gabbi McClendon, both of Morton, MS. John Mark also leaves behind his sister, Brandi Neuhaus, of Morton, MS, two cherished grandchildren, Tyleigh Jones and Marilyn Franklin, and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will all greatly miss his presence.
John Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Franklin, and his maternal grandparents, Roma and Fred Waggoner, as well as his paternal grandparents, Marta and Clois Franklin.
A visitation will be held on July 25, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. The family welcomes all who wish to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of so many.
