John Ray Davis

John Ray Davis, 83, passed away on Friday, October 13,2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM.  His Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM.  Visitation and services will be held at Pelahatchie Baptist Church.  Bro. Spencer Sullivan will officiate assisted by Bro. Billy McKay and Bro. Barry Corbett.  Interment will take place at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.  Services are under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.

John was born in Morton, MS to Curtis and Eunice Davis on August 18, 1940.  He was a lifelong resident of Pelahatchie, MS.  John was Baptist by faith and was a member of Pelahatchie Baptist Church.  He loved riding his golf cart all around town.  John enjoyed eating, gardening and watching baseball and football.  He was an avid Ole Miss fan.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Davis; parents, Curtis and Eunice Davis and brother, Robert Dale Davis.  He is survived by his children, Skipper Vaughn (Allison) of Maryville, LA, Randy Vaughn (Lori) of Rayville, LA, John Davis (Aletha) of Morton, MS, Tonya Bagbey (Richard) of Monroe, LA and Cindy Kelly (Patrick) of Morton, MS; brother, Joe Davis (Glenda) of Pelahatchie, MS; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Sistrunk, Curt Davis, Casey Derrick, Blake Hall, Cole Bagbey, Jason Johnson, Jonathan Barber and Chase Edwards.
