James "Jamie" Douglas Wilkerson, born March 10, 1958, in Scott County, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Lawrence, Mississippi, at the age of 68.
Jamie's story began in the heart of Mississippi, where he was a lifelong resident of Scott County. Jamie played football at Scott Central High School, where he received the "Rookie of the Year" Award. He retired from Koch Foods as a Supervisor after 25 years of service. Jamie was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
Jamie was a devoted father to Christy Martin (D.J.) and Shanna Gordon (Tommy), and a steadfast brother to Diane Wiggins (E.L.), Dell Reeves, David Wilkerson (Sherry), Duck Wilkerson, and Jim Wilkerson. He was also a beloved brother-in-law to Nick Muirhead. The roots of his family tree ran deep, and Jamie’s connection with his siblings and extended family was an abiding source of comfort and joy.

His heart further expanded with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Braelyn Jordan, Jo Riley Rigby, Judtson Rigby, and Colsen Carson. In moments big and small, Jamie nurtured, listened, and celebrated each milestone of his growing family, his pride in them radiating in every smile and story shared.
Jamie was preceded in death by his beloved father, Quitman Wilkerson, his mother, Neva Lee Wilkerson, and his siblings, Carmen Wilkerson, Betty Muirhead, Terry Dewayne Wilkerson, and Defay Wilkerson. Their memories remained close to Jamie’s heart, guiding his every day and continuing to bind his family together.
