James David Davis, age 86, entered his eternal rest on June 23, 2025. Born on May 2, 1939, in his hometown of Morton, Mississippi, James lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his craft, his church, and above all, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

James spent many years working with Peavey Electronics before retiring, but his talents and passions extended far beyond the workplace. For more than 35 years, he shared his wood crafts with Central Hills Baptist Retreat, leaving a legacy of creativity and joy for generations of campers.

A faithful follower of Jesus, James was an active member and deacon at Parkway Baptist Church in Morton. He lived out his faith daily, believing in the promises of an abundant life here and the blessed assurance of an eternal life with Christ. His service, kindness, and steadfast hope were a testimony to all who knew him.

James is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Foster Davis of Morton; his son, Dr. Stan and wife Dr. Melanie Davis of Poplarville; four grandsons; Caleb and wife Alicia Davis of Mobile, AL; Micah Davis of Jackson; Nathan Davis of Poplarville; Levi Davis of Poplarville; and one great-grandson, Lewis Davis of Mobile, AL.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Phoenie Davis; his son, Stacey David Davis of Phoenix, AZ; and his two brothers, Lester and Robert Davis.
