Ida Mae Chain, age 81, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at her residence in Pelahatchie, MS. Her visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Her burial will follow at Concord Baptist Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Dr. Billy McKay will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Ida was born on February 6, 1943, to Lawrence Wesley Horn and Grace Mae Fore in Rankin County, MS. She had lived in Pelahatchie, MS since 1982. Ida was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. She worked a number of years at Daisy a Day as a floral designer. Ida was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and gardening and she also loved music.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Chain; her parents, Lawrence and Grace Horn; her three brothers, Leslie, Wesley and Buddy Horn. She is survived by her three daughters, Robin Thompson of Morton, MS, Carol McCue of Morton, MS and Renee May of Pelahatchie, MS; her two sisters, Marcelle Nelson of Crystal Springs, MS and Carolyn Perry of Pelahatchie, MS; her eight grandchildren, Steven Arnold (Kaysey), Justin Beard (Crystal), Jerry McCue (Joanna), Ray Thompson, Russ Thompson, Brianna Sullivan (Grant), Kayla McCue and Eric May (Valerie); ten great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Steven Arnold, Justin Beard, Jerry McCue, Grant Sullivan, Kenneth Perry and Shayne Perry.
