Hugh Allen Williamson

Hugh Allen Williamson, age 87, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Bedford Care Center in Newton, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Monday, July 24, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:50 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Services will take place at 12:00 PM in our Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Lawrence, MS. Bro. Travis Watkins will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.  

Allen was born to Hugh Harrison Williamson and Ethel Bernice Lanthrip Williamson on January 26, 1936, in Lake, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Scott County, MS. Allen was a Baptist by faith and attended Pine Ridge Baptist Church. He was a God-fearing man, he was humble, loving and was good to everyone in the community. Allen loved antique Fords, he was an avid knife, coin and cap collector.   

Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Williamson; parents, Hugh and Bernice Williamson; grandson, Russell McCann and four siblings. He is survived by his two daughters, Teresa Shannon (Ricky) of Lena, MS and Amy Thweatt (Donnie) of Brandon, MS; two sons, Ronnie Williamson (Joyce) of Forest, MS and Mark Williamson of Lake, MS; a long time special friend, Pat Mioton of Philadelphia, MS; two sisters, Daisy Turner of Bryam, MS and Inez Hooks of Jackson, MS; brother, Dale Williamson of Forest, MS; brother-in-law, Ernest Gibbs (Patty Sue) of Lawrence, MS; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.    

Pallbearers will be Bryan Williamson, Noah Thweatt, Timothy Gibbs, Shannon Gibbs, Kasey Bridges and Brooks Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Goodwin, Chad Hillman and Earnest Gibbs.
