Harry Holmes

Harry Lindsley Holmes, 83, a resident of Morton passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 8:00 until 9:45 am. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10:00 am in the chapel with burial following in the Parkway Baptist Cemetery in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Holmes and Rev. Claude Shufelt. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Holmes was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS and Rankin County. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Morton, MS. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and garden. He had retired as a Supervisor with Choctaw Maid in Pelahatchie after 35 yrs. of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Curtis Holmes; his parents, Caiphas and Meadie Holmes.
He is survived by one daughter Brenda Kuriger and husband Michael of Brandon, MS; two sons, Harry C. Holmes and wife Linda of Morton, MS; Rev. Jerry M. Holmes and wife Donna of Forest, MS; one sister, Loyce Travis and husband Quincy of Greensburg, LA; two brothers, Davis C. Holmes and wife Elouise of Morton, MS; Dearl R. Holmes and wife Nora Faye of Morton, MS; a loyal friend and brother-in-law, Fred Waggoner of Morton, MS; four grandchildren, Heather Kuriger of Tupelo, MS; Marjorie Miles and husband John of Morton, MS; Joey Holmes and wife Candace of Morton, MS; Amber Holmes of Morton, MS; nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Davis, Charles Stevenson, Kenneth Holmes, Stanley Holmes, Jiles Holmes and Daniel Holmes. Honorary pallbearer will be Henry C. Holmes.
