We are not here to mourn death but to celebrate life and eternal life. We are all saddened with the death of Larry but we are proud that he is now in the arms of his beloved, Hope and mostly his Lord.

Larry grew up in Durant MS. He joined the Army when he was 18 years old. He and his friend Billy Seymore joined together and remained friends for life. Larry & Billy went to Fort Polk, LA for basic training. Larry was stationed in Fort Benning GA then in Panama for a while. He then returned home to marry Hope - January 14, 1967. He took his new bride to Fort Benning GA, where he served as a cook in the Army. After serving full time for a number of years, he continued to serve in the MS Army Guard. Larry was a Christian. He led singing at Durant Church of Christ for many years. He still sang a lot but mostly at Wal-Mart and at home when kidding around with the grandkids. He would sing a variety of music; Gospel Hymns, Hank Williams, Percy Sledge and Even Prince's Purple Rain with a little country slang.
Larry lived with his family in Durant, Carthage, Goodman and then when Hope became ill they lived with Connie, then Larry Dale and for the past few years he has been living in Jackson TN with Wanda Lanette and her family.
In Larry's younger years he loved riding horses, hunting and fishing. He told Wanda just the other day that he wanted to come home to MS to go crappie fishing. He also told Connie and Wanda that he wanted to come hear his youngest brother preach.
Larry loved all of his grandchildren. He would go watch Kalani and Kalei play softball and once he and another player's granddad was almost removed from one of the games for fussing at the umpire to loud. He loved to listen to Nick, Bo, & Max play guitar and Makayla Belle play piano. He had horses and donkeys.TJ, Keith and Dwayne rode the horses.Houston, Nemo and Breckon would ride them bareback. He was so proud of Glen when he graduated high school and of Katelyn when she started nursing school.
