H. C. Bailey, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at his residence in Philadelphia, MS. His visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Homewood Baptist Church in Homewood, MS. His services will take place at 3:00 PM. His burial will follow at Homewood Baptist Cemetery in Homewood, MS. Bro. Doyle Boyles and Bro. Mike Sullivan will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
H. C. was born to J. C. Bailey and Estelle Weeks on May 16, 1948, in Tutwiler, MS. He was a member of Lighthouse Church in Philadelphia, MS. H. C. loved the Lord and being a pastor, and because he came from a broken family his family was very important to him. He loved big. H. C. took every opportunity to witness and share The Love of God. Sharing God’s plan of Salvation was a part of almost every conversation he had.
H. C. was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Estelle Bailey. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Judith Bailey of Philadelphia, MS; his three children, Jerry Bailey of Philadelphia, MS, Jacinthia McDaniel (Jimmy) of Forest, MS and Justin Bailey of Brookhaven, MS; one sister; one brother; his five grandchildren, Kerri Morrison (Bradley), Amber Creel (Clarence), Jacey Grace (Alex), Johnathan Bailey and Anna Bailey; his eight great-grandchildren, Brayden Morrison, Kalynne Morrison, Grady Grace, Bellamy Grace, Jemma Creel, Oden Grace, Cinderella Creel, and Leznar Creel and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Morrison, Alex Grace, Clarence Creel, Quentin Adams, Jerimie Clieet and Cody Maharrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Bohon, Bobby Clieet, Rocky Fulgham, Buddy Simmons, Barry Simmons and Pat Richardson.
