Avery Ann Gordon, 7, a resident of Morton passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS on Wednesday, December 07, 2011 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, December 08, 2011 from 12:30 until 1:45 pm. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, December 08, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the chapel with burial following in the Branch Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Giles, Rev. Timothy “Bobo” Phillipson and Rev. Gayden Harrell. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.
Avery Ann was a lifelong resident of the Branch Community in Scott County and she was a member of Branch Baptist Church in Morton, MS. She was a member of the Mission Friends and GA’s at her church. Avery Ann was a 2nd grade student at East Rankin Academy. She loved to dance, draw and she took Karate. She loved spending time with her grandparents and cousins and she loved her church.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital for taking such loving care of Avery.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Sebe and Ola Gordon; Herman and Johnnie Grigsby, W.H. Owings and Ellouise Owings Bishop.
She is survived by her parents Brian and Courtney Gordon of Morton, MS; paternal grandparents, Jack and Barbara Gordon of Morton, MS; Maternal grandmother, Betty Hall of Clinton, MS; maternal grandfather, Glenwood Hall of Tampa, FL; sister, Addison Grace Gordon (3) of Morton, MS; aunts and uncles, Mike and Paige Wills, Ben and Jhola McGee and Scott Hall; cousins, Hanna, Hailey and Hope Wills, and Emma McGee; and a number of other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Tim Torrence, Paul Irby, Michael Craig, and Michael Latham. Honorary pallbearers will be East Rankin Academy 2nd Grade Students.
