Marshall Lewis, born on April 1, 1958, in Carthage, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in Carthage, MS, on September 14, 2025. He was a beloved figure in his community, having lived in Morton, MS, for over 50 years.
Marshall proudly served in the U.S. Army, demonstrating his dedication to his country. His love for life was evident in his many interests, which included hunting and fishing, as well as enjoying the thrill of garage sales and auctions. A devoted member of Line Creek Baptist Church, he found joy and solace in his faith, often participating in church activities and gatherings.
Marshall was known for his culinary skills, particularly when it came to cooking for family get-togethers, where his dishes brought warmth and joy to those around him. A family man at heart, he treasured the moments spent with his loved ones, creating lasting memories.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 47 years, Helen Lewis; his daughter, January Hord; his sisters, Mary Griffin (Tommy) and Bonnie Dorman (AC), both of Morton, MS; his brother, Bobby Lewis of Meridian, MS; as well as two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his special great-nephew Anthony, and a host of extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Golden and Ima Lewis, who undoubtedly shaped the kind-hearted man he became.
A visitation will be held on September 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on September 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, at Line Creek Baptist Church, located at 2492 Line Creek Rd, Morton, MS 39117. A funeral service will follow on September 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, also at the church.
Marshall Lewis leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a zest for life that will not be forgotten. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
