Gerald Daniel Johnston Sr., of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, passed away on September 04, 2026, at Hillcrest Nursing Center in Magee, Mississippi. He was born on August 08, 1952, in Yazoo City, Mississippi.

Mr. Johnston made his home in Pelahatchie for the past 40 years and was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi. Gerald also loved sharing the Lord with others. He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and horseback riding, and as a hard worker whose steady example was evident throughout his life.

Above all, Gerald treasured his family. He shared 46 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Alice Smith Johnston, and together they built a life marked by devotion and enduring commitment. He is also survived by his son, Christopher Johnston, and his wife, Kristi; his sisters, Diane Johnson, Genny George, and Bobbie Saxton; and his grandchildren, Ashley Phillips, Amanda Rhodes, Benjamin Johnston, and Kristen Davis. Each of them carries forward cherished memories of his love, strength, and presence.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Christopher and Mary Johnston, and by his son, Daniel Johnston.

Gerald Daniel Johnston Sr. will be remembered with love by all who knew him. His life was grounded in faith, family, and the simple joys he found outdoors, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing to those he leaves behind.
