F.J. "Son" Garrett

F. J. “Son” Garrett, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS.  His visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS.   His services will take place at 11:00 AM in our Funeral Home Chapel.  His burial will follow at Holly Bush Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS.  Bro. Travis Gray and Bro. Jackie Banes will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.  

Son was born to Fines J. Garrett and Daisy Burnham on November 9, 1934, in Rankin County, MS.  He was a lifelong resident of the Holly Bush community in Rankin County, MS.   Son was a member of Holly Bush Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS.  He had worked all of his life as a farmer, he loved to fish and he loved John Deere tractors. 

Son was preceded in death by his parents, Fines J. and Daisy Garrett and his sister, Jimmie Massey.  He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Mattie Garrett of Pelahatchie, MS; his son, Steve Garrett (Leann) of Pelahatchie, MS; his four grandchildren, Ryan Garrett (Amanda), Bo Garrett (Jenna), Whitney Wyatt (William) and Ty Garrett and a number of nieces, nephews and especially E. J. Gregory. 

Pallbearers will be Ryan Garrett, Bo Garrett, Ty Garrett, Zack Garrett, Wade Means and Webb Means.
