Elizabeth “Libby” Rogers Phillips, 73, from Pelahatchie, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024. She was born on March 26, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Victor Claude Rogers and Dorothy Lee Grimes Rogers. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. The celebration of life will be Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by graveside services at CrossRoads Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Libby married the love of her life, Harold Phillips, on May 6, 1968. Libby retired from G. V. Sonny Montgomery V. A. Medical Center. She was a member of CrossRoads Baptist Church. Her favorite thing was playing cards and games with her family and friends. 

Libby lived life to the fullest. She was larger than life and was known for her extravagant outfits and hairdos. She loved people and was always known to cheer up anyone. Libby never met a stranger. No matter where she went, she would have a new friend before she left.

Libby is preceded in death by her parents, Victor Claude Rogers and Dorothy Lee Grimes Rogers; siblings, Victor Rogers, Homer Rogers, Clara Henderson, Edgar Rogers, Pete Rogers, Lola Key, and Jenny Shuler; and grandson, James Harold Phillips. She is survived by her children Jenny (Mike) Coward, Tracy (Vicki) Phillips, Clark (Katrina) Phillips; her two sisters Sarah Lucas and Dorothy Till her grandchildren Christopher (Brittney) Phillips, Tabitha (Harrison) Varner, Kirkland (Kim) Phillips, and Annie Coward; her great-grandchildren, Brayden Phillips and Adalyn Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews; her best friend, Joyce Palmer; her roommate, Almeria Boyd; and the wonderful staff at Brandon Court Nursing Home other children she considered her own. 

Pallbearers will be Chris Phillips, Kirkland Phillips, Tommy Key, Jr., Aaron Henderson III, Bruce Holmes and Johnny Till.  

 Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Rogers, Richard Irby, Aaron Henderson, Jr., and Lenise Stanley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brandon Court Nursing Home Activities Program or Blair Batson Hospital.
