Don Marker

Don Marker, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at UMMC in Jackson, MS. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Penn’s Fish House in Forest, MS. 

Don was born on May 23, 1950, to John Paul Marker and Ida Cornelia Wicker in Morton, MS.  He had lived in Homewood, MS for the past twenty years.  Don was a member of Homewood Methodist Church in Homewood, MS.   He loved his wife, Ruth, grandchildren, hunting, and was an honorary member of the Whitetail Deer camp for forty years.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, John Jacob Marker and Ida Cornelia Wicker, daughter, Michelle Pennington, cousin, Wayne Wicker and his stepson, Joe Williams. He is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Ruth Maker of Homewood, MS; his sons, Paul Marker of Charlotte, NC and Brandon Marker of Johnson City, TN; his step-daughter, Sharon Norton of Homewood, MS his fur babies, Ruby Tuesday, Journey Mays and Monkey; his brother Steve Marker, his nine grandchildren, his six great-grandchildren with one on the way and a host of other friends and relatives.
