Edward Earl Denton

Mr. Edward Denton, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in Florence, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday, February 24, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services will take place at Morton Church of God at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Morton Memorial Gardens in Morton, MS. Bro. Randy Rigney and Bro. Donnie Denton will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Mr. Denton was born to James Denton and Audrey Joyner on March 18, 1947, in Scott County, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS. Mr. Denton was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and he loved his coffee club at Sam’s Diner. He loved spending time with his family and he was extremely faithful to his church. Mr. Denton also loved to go to the horse and mule sales.
Mr. Denton was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. Denton; parents, James and Audrey Denton and grandson, Tyler Kelly. He is survived by daughter, Lynn Williams (Brad) of Florence, MS; two sons Donnie Denton (Carol) of Morton, MS and Chris Denton (Alicia) of Morton, MS; brother, Dalton Denton of Morton, MS; sister, Dorothy Singleton of Brandon, MS; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Larry Barrier, Roger Dale Shoemaker, Michael Franklin, Kenny Stephens, Lee Lyle and B.J. Frith.
Honorary pallbearer will be Alex Stephens.
