Delilah Lois Vinzant, a cherished soul and beloved member of her family, passed away on May 2, 2025, at Lackey Memorial Hospital. Born on September 24, 2002, in Hinds County, Mississippi, Delilah was a lifelong resident of Scott County and embraced the warmth and community of her hometown.
She was a devoted member of Pine Grove Pentecostal Church in Sebastopol, where the spirit of faith and family enveloped her. Delilah was often described as the apple of her family's eye, a reflection of the love and affection that surrounded her. She thrived in the attention of her family, embodying a joyful presence that brightened every gathering.
Delilah is survived by her loving parents, Cody and Mary Vinzant, who reside in Forest, MS. She is also survived by her siblings: Michael Elmore of Lake, MS; Chasity McDowell (Hunter) of Lake, MS; Alicia Vinzant of Forest, MS; and Caleb Vinzant of Forest, MS. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved niece, Mrysella McDowell, and her nephew, Jensen McDowell, who brought her immense joy and laughter. The bond she shared with her maternal grandmother, Nelda Holmes, was a source of strength and love in her life.
Delilah’s legacy continues with the warm memories she created with her family, who will forever treasure her spirit and kindness. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Raymond Elmore and Ian Thomas Vinzant, as well as her cousin, Timothy Eugene Watford, who are now watching over her as she finds her peace.
