Peggy M. Craven, age 87, a resident of Chapin, SC and Lake, MS passed away on Wednesday May 6, 2015. A graveside service for family will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday May 10, 2015 at the Lake City Cemetery in Lake, MS. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday May 10, 2015 at the Lake United Methodist Church in Lake, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Sarah Windham. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Peggy was born in Winona, MS and graduated from Lake High School and the Gilfoy School of Nursing at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS before marrying Dr. Albert L. Craven of Lawrence, MS. She had seven children while enjoying a four-decade career in nursing and healthcare that culminated in being a nursing supervisor at Watauga County Hospital in Boone, NC before her retirement and return to Lake, MS in 1991. Most recently Peggy had been living in Chapin, SC near her daughter Laura. Through her strong faith and love Peggy lived for her family.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dr. Albert L. Craven; her sons, Jonathon Neil Craven and David Lee Craven; daughters, Peggy Melinda Craven and Anita Louise Craven. She is survived by two sons, Brian Craven of Eustis, FL, Paul Craven of Gibsonville, NC; one daughter, Laura Duncan of Irmo, SC; and eight grandchildren.
