Clay Denton, born on February 17, 1968, in Scott County, Mississippi, passed away on July 15, 2025, in Maywood, Illinois. He lived most of his life in Morton and Forest, MS, where he became well-known and respected in his community.
Clay was a man of strong faith, identifying as a Baptist, and he exemplified the values and beliefs he held dear throughout his life. His passion for old cars and race cars reflected his spirited personality and appreciation for craftsmanship and speed. For thirty-eight years, Clay dedicated himself to his career as a truck driver, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his work. At the time of his untimely death, he was driving for Wolf River Trucking.
He is survived by his fiancé, Tammy Crestman, of Forest, MS; his father, Dalton Denton, of Morton, MS; and his brother, Mark Denton of Brandon, MS. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
Clay was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Denton.
Services to honor and celebrate Clay's life will be held at a later date, providing family and friends the opportunity to remember the impact he had on their lives. Clay Denton will be missed, not only for his devotion to family and friends but also for the joy he found in his passions and profession. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
